We started holding the Medieval Festivals when the kids were studying
Comparative Civilizations in High School. They brought their classes here for 'educational'
We did demonstrations of various activities and had a banquet. The possibility
of hands-on crafts and experiences as well as the chance to eat ‘medieval style’ was a
real hit with the students. One vegetarian asked all her table-mates for their bones so she
could have the pleasure of throwing them on the floor.
The first banquets were held in an
unfinished basement room and were a tight fit for forty or more people.
